Marcy Bolden, the new President of the Alabama State University National Alumni Association (NAA), plans to lead with a clear vision—uniting alumni and fostering growth to strengthen the University’s future.
“With the new year, I’ve set my sights on achieving the primary goals and objectives of building membership and engagement, financial stability, raising alumni impact and visibility and reaching out to current students,” Bolden said.
Following the theme of “Unity, Progress and Legacy,” Bolden and her team have developed a comprehensive plan to grow membership and engagement, including focusing on organizing events, providing networking opportunities nationwide, and implementing a mentorship program for current students that
will provide guidance and support to students as they navigate their way through college and prepare for the challenges of the professional world.
“The mentorship program, which is a permanent fixture in the Association’s offerings, is to show students that they have a support team outside of school and family,” Bolden stressed. “We aim to increase students’ confidence and a sense of belonging within the ASU community. The Association's visibility on campus will increase, influencing more students seeking out our support and guidance.”
