Dr. Manoj K. Mishra, a distinguished professor of biology and director of the Cancer Research Center at Alabama State University (ASU), has been named an Honorary Adjunct Professor at Dr. RVR NRI Institute of Technology, Deemed to be University in Vijayawada Rural, Andhra Pradesh, India. The prestigious three-year appointment celebrates Mishra’s outstanding leadership in cancer biology, immunology, and translational research, as well as his dedication to fostering international academic collaborations.

As the founding director of ASU’s Cancer Research Center, Mishra has driven groundbreaking initiatives that enhanced the Center’s global reputation. His work has attracted significant funding and expanded research partnerships both nationally and internationally. The Center is recognized for its innovative focus areas, including tumor immunology, prostate cancer, health disparities, and cutting-edge AI-enabled biomedical discoveries.

Mishra expressed that the appointment honors ASU's growing international presence.

“This appointment reflects the growing international recognition of Alabama State University and the Cancer Research Center,” Mishra said. “It also highlights the importance of global partnerships in advancing cancer research and training the next generation of scientists.”

Through his new role, he plans to facilitate joint research projects, academic exchanges, mentorship programs, and collaborative efforts to accelerate scientific breakthroughs and deepen global engagement.

“This connection between ASU and the Indian institution promises to strengthen cancer research and pharmaceutical education, benefiting communities worldwide and inspiring the next generation of researchers,” he added.
