ONLINE EDUCATION AND PROGRams

The mission of the Division of Online Education and Programs is to advance teaching and learning in virtual ecologies. Of equal importance are the (a) expansion of student access to programming and (b) investigation of excellence in online learning and instruction through practice and research-based initiatives.

We are dedicated to providing online students with academic and personal support to promote self-development and knowledge production. Likewise, we aim to support faculty's role in the design, development, and facilitation of online courses and programs.

Alabama State University (ASU) is authorized by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE) and is a voluntary member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). NC-SARA implements a regional approach to state oversight of distance education, including online degree programs. NC-SARA policies protect students and are beneficial for states and institutions that offer online programming in other states. More information is available at NC-SARA

Students and potential students can view participating SARA institutions by state

ONLINE PROGRAMS

Continuous improvement is our focus. Thus, we are working to not only improve the quality of online courses at ASU, we are also working to expand access to degree programs. Presently, we offer select degree programs fully online:
