Alabama State University hosted the annual Alabama Student Success Organization (ALSSO) Conference on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 16–17, bringing together educators, administrators, and students to collaborate on strategies for academic success and professional growth.
Each day of the two-day conference featured a keynote address. Dr. Andre Harrison, Senior Vice President of Accreditation Services for Cognia, spoke Thursday, and Montgomery County Probate Judge J.C. Love III delivered Friday’s keynote.
Cynthia Steele, ALSSO President-Elect for 2025–2026, said the conference reflects the organization’s long-standing mission to promote excellence, innovation, and student advancement.
“Planning this year’s ALSSO Conference has been both a humbling and rewarding experience,” Steele said. “Educators come together to collaborate, grow, build community, and champion student success across all institutions.”
This year’s conference theme, “Stronger Together: Building Student Success Through Innovation and Connection,” emphasized unity and the collective impact of educational leadership in Alabama and beyond.
