The University of West Alabama Dean is Keynote Speaker for Honors Week

The Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of West Alabama, Dr. Jeffery R. Merida, is this year’s keynote speaker for Alabama State University’s W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Program’s second university-wide Honors Week, which is April 10-14.

Honors Week, which features in-person and virtual segments, brings together the ASU community to celebrate the academic excellence of ASU undergraduate students. The Honors Program is one of many in ASU’s University College.
The five-day celebration, focused on Global Leadership Initiative, will include a luncheon, community service day, an awards ceremony, and presentations by President Quinton T. Ross, Jr., and Dr. Carl S. Pettis, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
Highlights of the weeklong celebration are below:
April 10
9 a.m. – Noon. Opening Ceremony, Hardy Center Theatre Room
UC Connection, Poster Contest and Senior Symposium
April 11
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Community Service
South Montgomery Community (Narrow Lane Baptist Church)
Buckingham , Narrow Lane Road, Russell Street, Coral Lane, Norman Bridge Community
April 12
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Acadome Banquet Room
