University College Honors Day Convocation

Alabama State University will host its annual University College Honors Day Convocation on Thursday, March 5 at 11 a.m. in the Ralph D. Abernathy Auditorium. This year’s theme is “Academic Success: Thriving for Greatness.”
The University College Honors Day Convocation recognizes freshman students that have a 3.0 or higher grade point average. Each student receives a gold pin serving as motivation to continue their academic success throughout their college career.
“It is hoped that this activity will be a catalyst for academic enhancement and academic success,” said Dr. Evelyn Hodge, dean of University College.
University College prepares new students for the degree-granting colleges and it assists degree-granting college students with achieving academic milestones. Additionally, University College houses the Office of Interdisciplinary Studies which offers the Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies.
The event is free and open to the public.
