River Region residents and members of the Hornet Nation are invited to attend Alabama State University’s FREE Gospel Explosion concert where artists will bring their gospel hits to ASU.
The concert, part of ASU’s 2019 Hornet Homecoming Week and Turkey Day Classic lineup, kicks off on Sunday (Nov. 10), at 4 p.m. at ASU’s Ralph D. Abernathy auditorium. The event is sponsored by ASU’s Student Government Association (SGA).
The evening’s entertainment includes the soulful sounds from renowned artists such as Curtiss Glenn & Freedom Movement, Pastor Jhae Ray, Timothy Gabriel, Benae Clark and Life through Colors.
“We want the public and the Hornet Nation family to come out and have a great time,” said SGA secretary David Hammond Jr. “It’s a night of praise and worship you do not want to miss.”
But wait, the fun has just started.
The rest of the week is laden with a variety of events, such as the Homecoming Concert (featuring Da Baby, Meg Thee Stallion and Stunna 4 Vegas), a play (“Gospel at Colonus”), an event titled "A Tribute to the Legacy of Dr. Tommie “Tonea” Stewart," a homecoming bash featuring Souled Out Groove and Friends, the Turkey Day Parade, the Turkey Day Classic football game and much more.
