Traditional Freshman Residence Halls
THE FOLLOWING RESIDENCE HALLS ARE CONSIDERED TRADITIONAL FRESHMAN RESIDENCE HALLS:
Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Hall
Bearing the name of a civil rights legend, this five-story contemporary property built in 1990 houses 212 First-year Freshmen males in suite-style units with bathrooms. The 64,500 square-foot building features study rooms, a large recreation and social area located in the basement, a newly renovated digital laundry facility, and wireless Internet connections. MLK hall is located in the central part of campus convenient to classes, dining, the football stadium and the Acadome. This is a great place to experience all that campus life has to offer.
George N. Card Hall
Built in 1962 and beautifully restored in 2009, this historic four-story property is an all-suite facility that houses 118 First-year Freshmen males, with a designated Honors wing for those Presidential Scholarship recipients. It was named after George N. Card, ASU president from 1873 to 1878. Contemporary conveniences and tasteful finishes complement this facility which features elevators, year-round climate control, laundry, and study rooms on each floor with wireless Internet connections available for all residents. .
Charles Johnson (C.J.) Dunn Tower
Built in 1994, C.J. Dunn Tower is an 11-story brick and stucco building that provides housing for 480 First-year Freshmen females. The 114,419 square-foot building features suite-style living accommodations with bathrooms and a newly renovated digital laundry facility conveniently located in the basement. This residence unit is located next to the Fred Shuttlesworth Dining Hall. Wireless Internet connections are available for residents. Dunn Tower sits directly across from the University Center and in the middle of the east campus dorms.
Bessie S. Estell Hall
This 65,000 square-foot, five-story residence hall which was built in 1990 is a contemporary property that houses 212 First-year Freshmen females in suite-style accommodations with bathrooms. Each floor features study rooms, while a large recreation and social area is located in the basement, adjacent to the newly renovated digital laundry facility. Wireless Internet connections are available for residents. Bessie Estell is located in the central part of campus convenient to classes, dining, the football stadium and the Acadome.
