The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Alabama State University is sponsoring its free Small Business Recovery Virtual Course: Fiscal Year-End Closing Checklist – Module 5 of 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CST) on Dec.10 on Zoom.
The 8-module interactive course is designed to help small business owners understand the importance of business financial strategy planning relating to ongoing financial risk management and the impact of COVID-19.
During module 5, participants will gain information on fiscal year-end closing accounting checklist.
“We will review the budget to make sure owners are still maintaining their budgets, are utilizing the new accounting system that was implemented in the previous months and starting the preparation of year-end closing activities,” said SBDC Director Andrea Rogers Mosley. “We will review how records are being kept and guide owners on how to close financial activities out for the year. We also will discuss due dates of end-of-the-year filing.”
The live online meeting consists of three courses: Tax Planning and Financial Management, Cyber Security Awareness and Recovery and Disaster Planning. The courses are designed to provide essential training and advising to small businesses that have been adversely impacted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Registration for each course and training module will require individual signups.
Participants are encouraged to complete the entire series for full benefits of the course.
The remaining sessions will be held every second Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please sign up in advance for upcoming sessions below:
