The College of Business Administration is sponsoring its second virtual Executive Lecture Series on Thursday, March 4, at 11 a.m. (CST) on Zoom. There are six planned lecture series for the spring semester.

The guest speaker is Ryan Hirsch, the Senior Director for Surgent Professional Education. In his role, he leads the University Partnership team, which provides accounting and finance-related educational solutions to students and professors. Hirsch has more than 15 years of experience working in the accounting, health care and education industries, and he is passionate about training and development for both students and professionals.

Hirsch’s lecture topic includes a discussion on the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to succeed in the field of accounting, as well as a discussion on the partnership between ASU, Alabama Society of CPAs (ASCPA), and Surgent. The partnership allows students access to Surgent CPA Review Full Course (4 PARTS: AUD, BEC, FAR, REG) at a discounted price. ASCPA will reimburse the cost of taking the CPA exam.

Hirsch earned his Master of Education degree in Leadership and Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College and his bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Communications from Clark Atlanta University.
