President Quinton T. Ross, Jr., met virtually with the acting Secretary of the U.S. Army, the Honorable John E. Whitley, on Friday, February 19. They discussed a committed partnership that will provide great benefits for ASU students and faculty.
President Ross also participated in the virtual Army Research Opportunity Forum for HBCUs. The objectives of the forum are to build relationships between Army S&T and HBCU representatives and to provide information to HBCUs on partnership opportunities for research, as well as internship, apprenticeship and other outreach programs for ASU students and faculty.
"I was honored to have a private meeting with acting Secretary Whitley to discuss opportunities specific to Alabama State University and HBCUs in general. The forum that followed with HBCUs from across the country is highly significant as the army has increased its commitment to providing impactful research opportunities for our students and professors."
