Join in supporting the National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture at Alabama State University (National Center) as it hosts the 19th annual Patrons and Donors Reception, which takes place at 3 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 30) virtually on YouTube, Facebook:@CivilRightsCenter.
The purpose of the event is to recognize and honor the patrons of the National Center and to thank the many individuals and organizations that have contributed financial or material donations to the University, explained Dr. Janice Franklin, dean of the Levi Watkins Learning Center and executive director of the National Center.
"It is essential for the National Center to recognize the Center’s patrons and donors as the crucial pillars of support for our mission. The first part of the program allows the National Center to thank the patrons and recognize the scope of their activities," Franklin said. "The second part of the program features new donations made to the ASU Archives this year and allows the University to recognize and thank our donors. In addition to the creation of new collections, the National Center and the ASU Archives are also honoring individuals who have added to their existing collections.
