Montgomery's Citywide Rosa Parks Celebration on Nov. 30, Dec. 1 & Dec. 2
Below is a listing of the several citywide commemorations of Rosa Parks' brave stand for freedom, via her arrest and the ensuing Montgomery Bus Boycott.
The various commemorations of America's modern civil rights movement being born in Montgomery on Dec. 1, 1955 will begin this year on Nov. 30, and continue on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.
You will see that several different organizations are sponsoring various events on each day and we are proud to say that a core group of these entities that are hosting each event have come together to coordinate them and are working together to sponsor them. From Troy University Trustee Lamar P. Higgins as the group's chair to Alabama State University's Lois Russell and myself serving as the directors of information for them.
