Miss ASU Coronation Set for Saturday

Alabama State University will host the 81st Coronation of Miss ASU (2020-2021) on Saturday. Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. at the John Garrick Hardy Student Center Ballroom.
Due to COVID-19, the event is not open to the public but will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/ASU. For family members and friends in attendance, the event is mask mandatory and temperatures will be checked at the door.
Yasmine Whitehurst will be crowned the 81st Miss ASU during the ceremony, which will feature a variety of musical and dramatic performances that will surround and compliment her coronation theme, “The Forgotten Queendom: Retracing Our Culture.”
Whitehurst, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, is an Interdisciplinary Studies major with three minors -- business, general education and physical education.
