How do I apply?
Students must apply to the program by July 1 and will complete an interview if selected. Once accepted, students are admitted to both institutions and are required to attend orientation sessions on both campuses.

How much does Hornets on the Horizon cost?
Tuition and fees are assessed based on Southern Union’s tuition and fee structure. Students completing courses at ASU are assessed Southern Union tuition rates.
How does course registration work?
Students will register for courses through the regular registration processes at Southern Union and must meet with a program advisor to ensure proper placement in classes. Students are registered in ASU courses by the Office of Admissions.
How does the financial aid process work?
Southern Union will evaluate and award eligible financial aid to all students in the Hornets on the Horizon program. When applying for federal aid, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at SUSCC. Students are expected to abide by financial aid policies and procedures set by Southern Union.
Are Alabama State University scholarships available for Hornets on the Horizon?
Alabama State University scholarships are not available until students transfer fully to ASU following the concurrent enrollment terms. Once students are full-time ASU students, they are eligible to apply for scholarships.
