Assistant Professor Mary Soylu

Mary Soylu received her PhD in Art Education and Art History from Indiana University in 2014. Before coming to ASU, she taught in various capacities at The University of Alabama, Indiana University, and The University of Illinois at Chicago. She has studied internationally at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy and Regent's College in London, England and continued to travel abroad in pursuit of teaching and research opportunities; most recently to Greece and Turkey. As an arts advocate, Dr. Soylu is particularly passionate about cultivating university partnerships that support K-12 art education, community arts outreach, and cross-cultural exchange.
Some years ago, while traveling in Turkey, I found an abandoned puppy (Pamuk) and decided to bring her home with me to the U.S.
