For more than a century, thousands of Alabama State University graduates have become historymakers by helping to lift their communities as teachers and mayors, judges and senators, engaged citizens and leaders. Today, the University is still creating limitless opportunities for fueling progress in the community.

ASU is inviting the public to its Fall Connection Day to take the next step in becoming a historymaker.  The event is Saturday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

“Connection Day is an opportunity for students to literally connect with the University.  It’s an opportunity for participants… to talk to folks that can make a difference in their decision from their major to finances to housing and anything in between…So, it’s important for them to get that early information, which I like to liken it to planting a seed…So, the earlier that you can plant that seed…is an early opportunity to get our kids excited about attending ASU,” said Dr. Freddie Williams, assistant vice-president for Student Affairs/Enrollment Management/ Admissions and Recruitment.

Connection Day is for high school juniors and seniors, undergraduate, graduate and transfer students, as well as for veterans, active-duty members and dependents who are interested in attending ASU.

Participants will learn about life on campus, available majors and minors, academic and student support services, admissions, dual enrollment, military discounts, scholarships, including ROTC scholarships, and much more.

Participants will meet with representatives from ASU’s various colleges, take an official campus tour and make connections with other prospective students as well as current students.

Connection day not only offers a solid introduction to the history, culture and traditions that have shaped ASU’s legacy, but the event also offers the opportunity to learn what it means to be a Hornet and discover why ASU is the place "Where History is Made."
This exciting event also includes:

--Meet the ASU Family: Connect with professors, students, and staff eager to welcome new students into Hornet Nation.

--Discover Financial Aid Opportunities: Learn about scholarships, financial aid, and the costs associated with an ASU education.

--Witness the Mighty Marching Hornets: Experience the electrifying performance of the ASU Mighty Marching Hornets, renowned for their incredible talent.

--Embrace Hornets Football Culture:  Enjoy free game day admission to the ASU vs. Alcorn football game at 5 p.m. CST and be immersed  in the Hornet Football tradition.
