Welcome
Welcome to the Alabama State University Master of Social Work Program. It is our mission to prepare students for advanced professional practice with individuals, families, groups, and organizations. We aim to equip students with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values in one of our specialized areas of practice, Forensic Social Work and Mental Health. Graduates will be prepared to work with various populations in the state of Alabama and beyond with particular emphasis on those who are vulnerable, poor, and under-served. Currently, the program offers three tracks:
· Advanced Standing (1-year program)
· Traditional (2-year program)
· Part-time (3 – or 4-year program)
Our courses are offered in hybrid format with a mixture between traditional classroom settings and online instruction. Alabama State's MSW Program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. It is our hope that you will join us by pursuing your professional education in this truly rewarding field.
