Admission Requirements & Application Information

The minimum requirements for admission to the Master of Rehabilitation Counseling program are as follows:  

  • Application for Admission to the ASU Harold Murphy Graduate School.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. (GPA requirement for scholarships and grant traineeships may be higher than admission requirements)
  • Recent Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Millers Analogy Test (MAT) scores submitted to Graduate Studies with completed application
  • Three letters of recommendation from persons qualified to evaluate the application’s academic abilities and character

Completed applications are due by April 30th for fall enrollment. Due to the sequential nature of courses in the curriculum, incoming full-time students are only allowed to enroll for the fall semester. Additionally, incoming full-time students must pay a $26 malpractice insurance fee before being allowed to enroll in any MRC courses. The purpose of this insurance is to protect students during interactions with consumers while completing their practicum and internship obligations
