Kenn Darington
Kenn Darington
Director, COBA Computer Labs
The United States Air Force has three core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. Mr. Kenneth Darrington has never been in the United States Military, but there is a relationship between the two. These same values "paint" an accurate picture of who Mr. Darrington is and his influence here at Alabama State University (ASU).
Mr. Darrington graduated from ASU in May of 1982. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems. His relationship with the College of Business Administration (COBA) did not end that day. For thirty-one years, Mr. Darrington served as the Lab Director of the COBA Building. His primary responsibilities ranged from sustaining and enhancing all computer lab performance to keeping all network security up-to-date.
Even though taking care of our beloved COBA brought satisfaction to him, his greatest joy is training and mentoring our students. Every semester, Mr. Darrington supervises fifteen or more students to assist him in maintaining the Computer Labs. These students provide all levels of technical support and services throughout the entire COBA buildiing. He never hesitates when it comes to teaching our University's "future".
Since 2014, Mr. Darrington has become a part of the University's Office of Technology Services (OTS). He is an active Technical Services Specialist. Now, he can officially share his technological support and talents with the entire campus. He fulfills various IT Service Support Tickets. His services has no boundaries.
When he's not at work, you will probably find Mr. Darrington doing some yard work at his home. If you do not find him there, then you will probably find him at church, where he is a very active member. If you do not find him there, then he is spending time with his beautiful family. No matter where he is or what he is doing, I guarantee that you will see him there with a great smile on his face. You can reach him at cckd@alasu.edu.
