Ahnna Wilkes
Ahnna Wilkes is a senior Business Management major at Alabama State University. Her interest in business began during her senior year in high school. After shadowing one of the successful business leaders within her community; she was able to learn the in’s an out’s of entrepreneurship, while inadvertently being inspired to pursue her own career. Motivated by her experience, Ahnna then spent her summer’s interning at Tovar Snow Professionals and Northern Trust Financial Services Corporation.
Ahnna has made stellar achievements in professional as well as educational ventures. For the last three years Ahnna has been an active member in NAACP, Collegiate Financial Group, Aspire Mentoring and Enactus. Her recent work as Enactus president has allowed the team to secure its very first grant in 10 years! With this grant, Ahnna has led the establishment of an on campus ‘Women’s Economic Empowerment Group” known as ‘My Sister’s Keeper’. This organization aims to help the women within the College of Business Administration to become connected with corporate internships and opportunities. Ahnna’s life motto is to never expect an extraordinary result from an ordinary effort. In an effort to fulfill this motto Ahnna has pursued every personal and professional endeavor with extraordinary tenacity.
In addition to her local accolades, Ahnna is also affiliated with several national organizations. Ahnna is a Global Leadership Exchange fellow, studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic at Charles University. She is also recognized as an Executive Leadership Council Scholar, a Jack Jill of America Scholar and also a Thurgood Marshall College Fund Scholar.
Upon graduation, Ahnna will be working at Alliance Bernstein Asset Management Company in New York. She looks forward to climbing the corporate ladder and eventually pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration.
