Alabama State University is announcing that the closure of the University’s campus is extended until further notice.
President Quinton T. Ross Jr., said the decision was made after careful consideration of the current data related to the marked increase in COVID-19 cases; not only in the state of Alabama, but particularly in Montgomery.
“Our primary concern and responsibility will continue to be the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff, as well as the community at-large,” said Ross. “All University operations will continue as they have been since the campus closed in March.”
Ross said the University’s leadership is considering several options for classes in the fall and an announcement will come at a later date.
“We will continue to monitor information related to the coronavirus pandemic and consult with the appropriate state and federal officials and healthcare professionals in making decisions that impact the safety of the University family,” Ross added.
