A small business lending and financial education seminar is being held to help small business owners in Lowndes County, the River Region and the Black Belt learn about the business loan market, as well as how to identify the right type of financial product for their particular business need.

It is hosted by Alabama State University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Lowndes County Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration's Alabama District Office.

The seminar will be held Tuesday (Oct. 29) from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at 215 W Tuskeena St, Hayneville AL 36040.

The event is free and open to the public.

Presenters for this event include Roderick D. Perkins, lead lender relations and economic development officer with the SBA Alabama District Office and John Lyon, community partner with BancorpSouth, which is an SBA preferred lender.

Attendees will learn how to access the capital needed to start or grow their business and learn why business credit is very important and how it differs from your personal credit. The event is co-hosted with BancorpSouth; Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Lowndes County Office, and the Tuskegee University Extension System, Lowndes County Office.
