ASU's 2020 Summer Classes will be Taught Online!
Alabama State University has announced that it has moved its Summer 2020 classes online in the wake of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus.
Priority registration for the summer sessions is open now through May 1, and regular and four-week sessions will open in May and June respectively (see the flyer below for detailed information and dates).
"Over the past three weeks, the entire Hornet community has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We have made significant changes in our course delivery in a short period of time, and we are extremely proud of the flexibility and resilience that has been shown by our faculty and our students to make the shift from traditional to online and alternative course delivery,” said President Quinton T. Ross Jr.
"If there is one thing I hope has been clear throughout this process, it is that the University cares about its students and is committed to helping them achieve their dreams whether they are on campus or online," Ross added.
He said that the University is asking all current students to contact their academic advisers before registering online and to contact the office of Financial Aid for all questions on Summer Pell Grants by calling 334-229-4862. Students interested in enrolling in ASU for either the summer semester or the 2020-2021 academic year should contact the Office of Admissions at (334) 229-4291.
"While we do not know the long-term impact of the pandemic, we want to make this decision now to give ASU's students and its faculty the time needed to adjust their plans," Ross said. "Although we must be physically separated at this time, I cannot be prouder of our faculty and staff who are working diligently to meet the challenges that are before us.”
