ASU Mourns the Loss of Dr. John Winston Jr.

The Alabama State University family mourns the loss of one of its beloved alumni, Dr. John Winston Jr. (1949).

Winston, one of two black physicians to integrate the segregated public hospital system in Montgomery, also served as a volunteer physician for ASU's Health Center. Winston expired April 2, 2019. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues.
