ASU to Host Safety Week, September 23-26

Alabama State University will host a week-long series of events to bring awareness to campus safety.
“Safety Week,” which is sponsored by ASU’s University Programing and Activities Board (UPAAB), will be held September 23-26, at a variety of locations on campus. The events will be held to increase the awareness of public safety on campus, as well as make sure both students and faculty are taught important tactics if ever in crisis.
A complete list of event is as follows:
· Mon. Sept. 23, “Know Your Rights/ Active Shooter” forum in the Abernathy Auditorium at 7 p.m.;
· Tue. Sept. 24, Self-defense class in the Acadome Concourse at 7 p.m.
· Wed. Sept. 25, Game Night and “Red Table Talk” Q&A session (both will start at 7 p.m. that night in the student center ballrooms).
· Thurs. Sept. 26, “Safety Week” will conclude with a K-9 demonstration in the amphitheater at 11 a.m. till noon, and a CPR class held in the student center ballroom at 7 p.m.
