ASU to Hold Fall Commencement Exercises
Alabama State University will hold its 298th Commencement Exercises on Friday, December 7 at 9:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. The speakers for both ceremonies are alumni of the University. Quincy P. Minor, President/COO of Information Transportation Solutions Inc,. will be the speaker for the morning ceremony, and Georgia State Senator Tonya Peterson Anderson (D-43) will deliver the afternoon address.
Minor, a former member of the Mighty Marching Hornets, continues to support the University as an Advisory Board member of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and a board member for the Percy J. Vaughn, Jr. College of Business Administration. He was appointed to the Alabama Supercomputer Authority Board of Directors and was the 2017 Alabama River Region Conference Lay Organization Father of the Year. He is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Anderson has served in the Georgia legislature for the past five years. In 2012, she was elected to serve as the first State Representative for the newly formed District 92. In 2016, she was elected to the Georgia Senate serving District 43. Anderson retired from the United States Air Force Reserve after more than 21 years of service and continues to volunteer and advocate for veterans’ services. She holds a degree in business administration with an emphasis in management from Alabama State University, as well as a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice University.
