Montgomery, Ala. | The Alabama State SWARMAS1 Coaches’ Caravan has returned for Summer 2022 with seven stops in Alabama and Georgia. The tour kicked off Thursday, June 9, in the Club Lounge of the ASU Stadium.
More than 100 Hornets fans registered for the first leg of the tour that featured Athletic Director Jason Cable and the Hornets’ coaching staff, including the newest head coaches: football's Eddie Robinson and men's basketball's Antonio Madlock.
Other stops for the tour include Dothan, Ala., on June 16; Columbus, Ga., on June 18; Atlanta, Ga., on June 28; Huntsville, Ala., on July 14; Mobile, Ala.: on July 19; and Birmingham, Ala., on July 21.
“We have been working with the National Alumni Association chapters in each of the cities along the tour. They are all eager to hear about our plans for the 2022-23 season of Hornets athletics,” said Cable. “The SWARMAS1 Coaches' Caravan is an opportunity to share our vision with our fans and supporters, and how we're executing it."
Robinson and Madlock are scheduled to speak at all of the SWARMAS1 Coaches' Caravan events, while all other coaches will participate as their schedules permit.
Cable said the Caravan will feature an evening of fun and information for Hornets fans.
“We’ll have food and door prizes, as well as an opportunity for our fans to engage with our coaches and other members of the Athletics staff,” Cable added.
Robinson said he’s excited to share with fans about the upcoming season.
“We’re ready to take Hornet football and all of our sports to the next level,” said Robinson. “ASU has excellent Division 1 athletics and we want to showcase what we have to offer, not only to the Hornet faithful, but also to other sports enthusiasts. This tour will help to promote our new mantra for Hornet Nation as we all ‘SWARMAS1.' ”
There is no cost for the Coaches’ Caravan event; however, fans are asked to register in advance of attendance.
