Alabama State University Hosts the ASU Buzz Run 5K and Stinger's Fun Run

Alabama State University (ASU) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated "ASU Buzz Run 5K" taking place on Saturday, September 9, 2023, starting at 7:30 a.m. The event, which aims to promote fitness, health wellness and CommUniversity, will be held on the beautiful ASU campus, beginning in front of The ASU Stadium. In addition to the main 5K race, ASU will also host a "Stinger's Fun Run for Kids” starting at 9 a.m.

The ASU Buzz Run 5K is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you are a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or simply enjoy a leisurely walk, this event has something for everyone. Participants can expect a thrilling and scenic race course that will take them through ASU's vibrant campus and the surrounding Cloverdale neighborhood.

Registrations are now open, and early birds have the opportunity to take advantage of a special discounted rate. Early bird registration is available for $35 from now until July 30, offering a fantastic incentive to secure your spot. For those who miss the early bird deadline, regular registration will be open from July 31 to September 2 at a cost of $45.

Latecomers can still join the fun with late registration available from September 3 until the day of the race for $50. It's important to note that participants who register during the late registration period will not receive a race T-shirt, so it's best to sign up early to guarantee this coveted item.

Stinger's Fun Run

In addition to the main 5K event, the ASU Buzz Run will also feature the Stinger's Fun Run for Kids. This exciting race, designed specifically for young participants ages 4-12, will commence at 9 a.m. Children will have the opportunity to experience the joy of running in a safe and supportive environment. The registration fee for Stinger's Fun Run is $15.
