Alabama-Mississippi Sociological Association to Host 51st annual Conference at ASU

The Alabama-Mississippi Sociological Association will host its 51st annual conference on February 27-28 at Alabama State University. The theme of the conference is “Social Scientists Journey in Civil Rights Corridor: “AFTER THE DREAM.”

The conference, will be held at ASU’s John Garrick Hardy Student Center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Former Alabama Senator Hank Sanders will serve as the conference’s plenary speaker. He will discuss “Our Journey in the Civil Rights Corridor: Post Dream.”

The conference also will include paper and poster competitions for both graduate and undergraduate students, each with cash prizes.

Program coordinators include: Dr. Ram Alagan, Dr. Robert White, Dr. Mark Dugo, Dr. Cynthia Steel, Dr. Seela Aladuwaka, Jamicia Croskery, Arthur Baylor, Gina Brown, and Denise Roy.
