SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM
Alabama State University (ASU) Summer Bridge Program is a comprehensive academic program for incoming freshmen who are recent high school graduates. The six-week intensive program is specifically designed to assist incoming freshmen with completing general education coursework, academic skills development, social integration, and successful transition from high school to college. Additionally, the Bridge Coordinator closely monitors Summer Bridge participants throughout their first academic year at ASU by tracking Bridge students’ academic progress, providing referrals to campus resources, and advising Bridge students on required coursework.
All students accepted into the Summer Bridge Program are required to adhere to the program’s academic requirements in the summer in order to continue to the Fall semester.
ASU Bridge Program, under the auspices of the Academic Center for Educational Success (A.C.E.S.), successfully transitions admitted students from high school into college by familiarizing students with the resources necessary to meet the academic and social demands of the University.
