Training and Workshops

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness provides a variety of assessment support training sessions that will assist with the elements of the Assessment Cycle.  Individualized training workshops and consultations are available for colleges, departments and/or divisions. Topic: SMART Objectives and Key Performance Indicators

Description: Participants will learn to differentiate between goals and objectives and the characteristics of well-written objectives. Key Performance Indicators will also be discussed in regard to crafting objectives. It is critical to not only measure, but to measure the right things. Come learn how to advance your unit through strategy. Recommended Audience: Directors, Non-Instructional Unit Assessment Report Authors, and others interested in learning to write effective objectives.
 

Topic: Time and Effort Reporting

Description: What it is and why is it reported. The federal government requires an effort report when an individual is compensated by or has agreed to contribute time to a federally sponsored project. All ASU faculty and staff serving as principal investigators (PI) or project directors (PD) on sponsored agreements are personally responsible for certifying the amount of effort that they and their employees spent on sponsored activities.

As part of its quality assurance function, the Commission vets institutions’ off-campus instructional sites against policy-defined criteria. In this webinar, you’ll learn the notification and approval thresholds for off-campus instructional sites, how to maintain accurate records of site names and addresses with the Commission, site relocations, teach-out obligations for closing sites, re-opening closed sites, and other timely topics for locations geographically separate from the institution’s main campus.
