Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Stay home from school or work when you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water when hands are visibly dirty.

The Flu and Coronavirus

There is no doubt you are aware of the increasing global concern regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  ASU is engaged in ongoing conversations about how best to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe in the event the virus were to impact our university or surrounding community while acknowledging the flu is still in play for our community. To ensure sound and careful decision-making, we are monitoring global, national, and local health organizations, as well as regional and state advisors.

The health and well-being of the ASU community of students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority.

The spread and management of serious contagion like COVID-19 is a primary focus for our public health agencies and, as such, we encourage you to follow the advice of the World Health Organization, CDC, and our local health and government departments. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/summary.html

We ask all students, faculty, and staff follow these guidelines:

Please reinforce to students to wash their hands many times each day while on campus and when they return home; sneeze or cough into their elbows; do not shake hands or use fist bumps, and do not share cups or water bottles.

Please do not attend classes or come to work if you are ill. We ask you to follow the 24-hour rule.  Please do not attend classes or work less than 24 hours after being recovered and unmedicated from a fever, vomiting, etc.

If you are traveling during Spring Break, please carefully check the CDC Travelers website to ensure a safe experience.

Alert the ASU administration if anyone in your immediate family will be traveling out of the country, is symptomatic, diagnosed with an illness, or quarantined.
