Birmingham's WBRC station will broadcast its morning show from the campus of Alabama State University.

WBRC Fox 6 TV’s “Good Day Alabama,” a morning show out of Birmingham, will broadcast live from the campus of Alabama State University on Wednesday, Feb.  28.

The broadcast is in honor of Black History Month and celebrates Alabama’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

“Good Day Alabama” will spotlight ASU’s University Choir and Chamber Singers. The choirs will sing three works at three different times throughout the morning broadcast.

"On behalf of the Music Department and the College of Visual and Performing Arts, we are honored that WBRC invited us to sing as representative choirs as part of their Black History Month series, and we find this momentous occasion appropriate as we continue to celebrate 150 years of history at ASU," said Dr. Kristopher Sanchack, director of Choral Activities.

The morning show prerecorded interviews with three singers (Matthew Chappell, Denaye Bolden and James McTier) that will air on Wednesday. The trio will discuss a historical or inspirational African American who influenced their lives.

WBRC’s live interview with Dr. Tommie Stewart, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will focus on upcoming ASU choral concerts and the opportunities that are available for prospective students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

“Good Day Alabama” TV show will air between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
