Delegates to the ASU National Alumni Association Biennial Convention have elected new officers to serve for the next two years.

The National Alumni Association (NAA) held its biennial convention this week in Las Vegas, Nev.

Included in the convention agenda was the election of a slate of new officers to serve for the next two years.

Erick Wright ('80) will serve as president of the NAA. Other officers include Shannon Cloman ('99), 1st vice president; Latanya Dunham ('98), 2nd vice president; Tamara Lovejoy ('97), treasurer; Nikki Manus ('02), financial secretary; and Yolanda Robinson ('82), recording secretary. “I am thankful and blessed that the convention’s delegate assembly, who are the (NAA) chapter representatives, entrusted me to lead the organization for next two years,” said Wright. “What I feel that I can bring to the position is…the ability to communicate effectively with all of the University’s stakeholders, not just the NAA, but also the University community, faculty, staff and, of course, the Board of Directors, with our bottom line being the students.”

Wright and the other newly elected officers will assume their roles in January of 2018, when the terms of the current administration, led by NAA President Vanessa Dickens, expire.

The 2017 assembly represented the 34th Biennial Convention for the NAA. The next convention will be held in 2019 in Chicago, Ill.
