“Bama State Style,” the television reality series featuring Alabama State University’s Mighty Marching Hornets, will return to television on Jan. 10, on the Aspire network.
The popular television reality show, based on the Mighty Marching Hornets band, has been picked up by Aspire TV. In a statement dated Dec. 14 (see below), the network announced the acquisition of “Bama State Style,” which originally ran on another network and earned top ratings.
According to the release, Aspire will air both old and new episodes of the series.

ATLANTA – December 14, 2016 – ASPiRE (@tvASPiRE), the network that presents authentic portrayals of Black and urban culture, announced today that they are the new television home of Bama State Style. The reality show features Alabama State University’s famous Mighty Marching Hornets – the esteemed marching band known throughout the collegiate world for their amazing mashups and dance collaboration with Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards. The Mighty Marching Hornets can also currently be seen in the movie Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. The series begins as five candidates audition for the season’s top position: Head Drum Major. Meanwhile, the gorgeous Stingettes and the plus-sized Honey Beez kick off their seasons with a bang. Bama State Style will premiere Tuesday, January 10 at 8 p.m. ET.

Bama State Style is produced by Tremendous! Entertainment. Executive Producers are Colleen Needles Steward, Shannon Keenan Demers, Tim Hamilton, Jennifer Colbert and Brendon Carter. ASPiRE has acquired Bama State Style from A+E Networks. ASPiRE will air eight one-hour episodes including four previously aired episodes and four never-before-seen episodes.
