ASU is getting ready to hit the road and share its story of transformation and tradition during the fourth annual President’s Bus Tour.
Prospective students, parents, alumni and community leaders will get an opportunity to take a closer look at Alabama State University during the 2013 President’s Bus Tour. The annual tour will take place Sunday, April 21 through Saturday, April 27.
The tour has become a popular event for ASU and its constituents. University representatives will visit high schools and host alumni and community events throughout Alabama and Georgia.
Freddie Williams Jr., director of Admissions and Recruitment, said the tour gives the University a chance to connect with people and give them a firsthand look at what ASU has to offer.
“A lot of the population that we serve may not have a chance to come to campus, so we take the campus to them. We have representatives from all of the colleges on the tour, as well as administrators, faculty and staff members who interact with the attendees and share information about all of our programs,” Williams said.
Williams said the University received an enthusiastic welcome on every stop of the tour last year, and he believes the trip provides a boost for enrollment.
“We had a very good year for enrollment. The tour was our last big enrollment push, and I think it was the icing on the cake in terms of the number of new students who decided to attend Alabama State University,” Williams said. “This is vital community outreach that we’re doing.”
The 2013 President’s Bus Tour will make stops in the following cities:
