Independence Day Celebrated Early at ASU Children's Center

The Fourth of July holiday arrived early Thursday at ASU's Zelia Stephens Early Childhood Learning Center, as teachers held a red, white and blue party for dozens of the Center's  young students.

NCAA Appeals Committee Reduces ASU Penalty  

The NCAA Division I Infractions Appeals Committee has reduced Alabama State University's probation by two years, claiming the original five-year probation in December 2008 was an "abuse of discretion." ASU President William H. Harris said he is delighted the university has been vindicated and will continue to build upon the foundation for a stronger athletics department.

Disaster Response Symposium July 8 at ASU Acadome

ASU students, staff, faculty and local community residents will get the chance next week to learn how best to respond if a campus threat or emergency occurs. The university's emergency response plan will be outlined during a symposium Wednesday, July 8, from noon to 2 p.m., in the ASU Acadome.

ASU Announces License Plate Design Competition 

A new competition is giving ASU students the opportunity to place their mark on one of the most visible means of promoting the university: the ASU affinity tag. The competition allows currently enrolled students to design the new ASU license plate and win a one-year scholarship.
