If you’re drawn to a career in the entertainment industry, don’t miss an unique opportunity to meet a Hollywood representative and  other industry professionals when Alabama State University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts presents  its Entertainment Industry Career Symposium  on Tuesday, Nov. 14,  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at  ASU’s John Garrick Hardy Student Center Ballroom (second floor).

The event is free and open to the public.

The symposium launches the HBCU Pipeline Initiative to increase the representation of minorities in all aspects of the entertainment industry.

“It will provide the opportunity for productive dialogue between faculty, staff, students, members of the general public and industry professionals on what it takes to build a successful career in this creative economy,” said Dr. Tommie “Tonea” Stewart, dean, College of Visual and Performing Arts.

The symposium features Hollywood representative Stacy Milner, author of “Leveraging UP! The Key to Launching YOUR Entertainment Career.” She will discuss “Navigating a Career in the Entertainment Industry,” a behind-the-scenes, high-definition look at what it takes to land a job and succeed in your career endeavors in the entertainment industry.

“Stacy will take students inside the industry’s coveted inner circle and discuss the HBCU LA Internship Program,” Stewart said.

Immediately following the program there will be a meet and greet with Milner and guest panelists.
