As a May 2009 graduate, I received a job offer with the Federal Government working for the Air Force.  I interviewed in Career Services in April (2009) and was notified in July that I was hired.  I will be stationed in Los Angeles for training, however, after training, I will be given the opportunity to return home to Georgia, if I would like.  The pay in itself is wonderful, but with the added benefits, the position becomes a dream of a lifetime.  Included in the many benefits are the payments for education assistance  loans, and relocation expenses.  Career Services played an instrumental role in this job opportunity which I was fortunate to acquire.  I am truly blessed to have had this opportunity! 

I would like to thank the Career Services Center for the many resume writing, interview techniques and job search strategy workshops provided to the students of Alabama State University.  These workshops were invaluable and prepared students to maneuver through and use the career fairs which were also sponsored by Career Services.  All the programs and services sponsored thru Career Services were helpful and I encourage all students to get to know the career counselors and utilize the services there.

To all graduating seniors, I recommend you to take the time to register with the Career Center and to take advantage of services they provide.  Read all the flyers posted around campus from that office and those sent in the mail regarding job opportunities. Go to the workshops and Job-fairs.  It is not too early for freshmen, sophomores and juniors to explore the services of the Center either.  Give them a chance, they can help you too.
