Bridge Program

The Bridge Program is a comprehensive and intensive program for conditionally admitted freshmen involving specialized coursework, support resources, and social gatherings to integrate new freshmen successfully into the Alabama State University (ASU) environment. All students accepting admission into Bridge Program are required to adhere to procedures, conditions, and requirements.

Mission Statement

ASU Bridge Program successfully transitions conditionally admitted students from high school into college by familiarizing students with the resources necessary to meet the academic and social demands of the University. In addition, the Retention Specialist keeps students accountable during their first academic year by tracking their academic progress, disseminating periodic updates of their academic standings, and providing recommendations for their academic and social development.

Bridge Program Admissions Process

Conditional admission to ASU and the entrance into the Bridge Program is based on careful consideration of a student's ACT/SAT score(s) and high school transcripts. This program has only 200 seats available. For questions regarding this process, contact the Office of Admissions and Recruitment at 334-229-4291 or toll-free 800-253-5037.

If you have questions regarding admission into the Bridge Program, please contact the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, 334-229-4291 or toll-free 800-253-5037. Students that have been accepted into the Bridge Program will receive a letter from the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
