Standardized Test Information

Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General and Subject Tests

GRE General Test is offered year-round at the Prometric Testing Center (Sylvan Learning Center for Montgomery and surrounding areas) and also on specific dates at additional testing locations outside of the Prometric Testing Center network. Tests are scheduled daily through the ETS Website http://www.ets.org/gre.

 ********Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

GRE Subject Test is given worldwide three times a year at paper delivered testing centers, in the months of:

Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

The MAT is administered on the campus of Alabama State University twice a month on Friday, ******EXCEPT December. The reporting time is scheduled for 2:30pm. The test will take approximately one (1) hour to complete. The fee is $70.00 (cash, money order or credit card) payable in person or (credit or debit card) by telephone. Fees are non-refundable and must be paid two weeks prior to testing date. Please make payments to the Cashier’s Office (John Garrick Hardy Student Center) or by telephone at (334) 229-4195. The test will be administered in the Life Science Building, Rm#102.

**** After making your payment, please complete the MAT Registration Form under “Testing Center Forms.” Once this process is complete, your name will be added to the roster and you will receive a confirmation email.

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

All graduate candidates applying for admission to the Master of Accountancy (M.Acc) program must have minimum (GMAT) score of 400.

The GMAT, available around the world throughout the year, admission deadlines for graduate business programs vary. It is important to set up your GMAT ahead of time to ensure your scores are reported prior to application deadlines.

Alabama Educator Certification Teacher Program (AECTP)

 

All teacher certification majors (including alternative certification) are required to pass the Basic Skills Assessment of the AECTP. The three sections consist of Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Writing. Must pass all three sections. ****Test is ONLY given on SATURDAY.
