A Message From Dean Evelyn Hodge

Evelyn Hodge

Welcome to University College, where students’ success is our priority.

We are the academic unit of the first-year experience for new students entering Alabama State University. Our goal is to assist students through a variety of services and programs to ensure optimal success and progress.

The first-year can be challenging for any student because of the added and new responsibilities; therefore, we are the academic unit which helps students transition from high school to college. This academic unit provides a firm foundation for life-long learning during students’ earliest time at the university. This is achieved through providing course offerings and resources to support student learning outcomes.

Resources and services in University College include:  the Department of Advancement Studies, the Orientation Program-Freshmen Experience Course, the W.E.B. Dubois Honors Program, the College Reading Program, and TRIO Programs. Additionally, University College is an academic unit which partners with campus units and student support programs to help students have an excellent start. However, any student who needs academic support services and career awareness assistance may contact us.

We are located in Trenholm Hall, 101. Please visit us soon to learn more about us and how we can help you reach your academic and professional goals.  See a listing of the locations of all areas located in University College.

University College will assist you on your Journey to Success at Alabama State University.
