M.S. in Biology

            Prerequisites:

A Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field, and a minimum, cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a four-point scale.

Prerequisite courses include:

Grade of “C” or better

General physics         8 sem. hours

General chem.            8 sem. hours 

Organic chem.            8 sem. hours

Cell bio/biochem.       4 sem. hours

 

            Credit Hours:

A minimum of 35 credit hours, which include the core requirements courses:

BIO 500-Graduate Seminar in Biology

BIO 517-Cell & Molecular Genetics

BIO 521-Biological Tech. & Instrument.

BIO 619-Molecular Genetics

BIO 660-Research and Thesis

 

           Test Requirements:

Candidates must take the GRE Subject and General: No minimum score

requirement but preference is:

Scale score:

Verbal: 156

Quantitative: 158

Analytical Writing: 3

Subject test: GRE (No minimum score)

Letters of recommendation:  3

 

            Length of Program and Deadline:

Average time to graduation is 2 years.
Interested persons should apply  1 month before the current semester ends.
