Prosthetics and Orthotics Fabrication Laboratory

Alabama State University has an accredited Masters of Science in prosthetics and orthotics (MSPO) program housed in an 8,000 square foot facility for clinical instruction and prosthetic/orthotic fabrication. The facility has 18 workstations with vertical fabrication jigs for P&O fabrication, six PDQ ovens, 16 lamination stations, ten variable speed trautmans, and all other equipment necessary for the fabrication of prosthetic devices. The MSPO program employs a full-time technician to help with any fabrication projects.

 

 

 

Oven Room

Machine Room

machine room.jpgThe machine room allows for grinding of prosthetic/orthotic devices. We have additional trautmans and belt sanders throughout the fabrication lab.

 

 

 

 


 


Lamination Room

The lamintation room can be outfitted with up to 16 lamintation stations or vertical alignment jig. The room includes a sophicated HVAC system to keep the air clean.

Application to the Department of Prosthetics & Orthotics is ONLY through the online Orthotic & Prosthetic Centralized Application Service (OPCAS). Paper applications will NOT be considered. The revised application deadline is February 9, 2018, with rolling admissions through April 15, 2018, until positions are filled.

Interviews may be held for students under consideration for admission to the ASU P&O program for Fall 2018.
