Alabama Mandarin Language Immersion Program

Important 2011 Six-week Program Announcement:

Alabama State University will not be able to make the Alabama Mandarin Language Immersion Program available at this time because we did not receive funding for summer 2011. We are sorry to disappoint the foreign language students whose interest in Mandarin language and culture we hope to encourage through the unique, hands-on experience this program has provided. However, we urge students to continue in their foreign language pursuits. Learn More...

Building Competitive Skills, Forming International Friendships…

Announcing a unique opportunity for 16 Alabama high school students with foundational Chinese language skills to participate in a FREE, six-week culture immersion program- this summer in Taipei, Taiwan. Selected students will learn firsthand about Mandarin/Chinese culture and increase their proficiency in Chinese language skills while studying at the National Taiwan University (NTU) which offers an excellent program and services and affords students many opportunities to enjoy excursions to cultural and historical sites, and develop different perspectives on global issues.
