ASU’s Bachelor of Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)---it’s the only accredited social work program in Montgomery. Here, you’ll study human behavior, psychology, anthropology, social welfare and welfare policy and services. You’ll also get the real world experience you need to succeed through field work in local social service agencies.

Minor in Social Welfare

Learn the ins and outs of welfare policy reform with a minor in social welfare from ASU---a great complement to your degree in social work, political science, sociology or criminal justice.

First organized in 1974, the Social Work program was accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) in 1989 and reaffirmed in 2000 for an 8-year period. It gained full status as a separate academic department in 1994.
