Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges Accreditation

Message From President Gwendolyn E. Boyd

This site has been created to provide access to various processes and documentation related to the University's continued accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

As the University engages with SACSCOC, it is very important that our various stakeholders--students and parents, alumni and partners--be informed of our strategic activities related to accreditation. This site will be updated as information is gathered and exchanged with our accrediting agency.

What does accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) mean?

According to the Association, accreditation (1) “signifies that the institution has a mission appropriate to higher education, (2) has resources, programs, and services sufficient to accomplish and sustain that mission, and (3) maintains clearly specified educational objectives that are consistent with its mission and appropriate to the degrees it offers, and that indicate whether it is successful in achieving its stated goals.”
