MISSION

 The mission of the Alabama State University Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation reflects the ASU and COE missions and is to prepare teachers and recreation specialists to be decision makers who 

• are reflective practitioners, change agents, and lifelong learners

• insure quality  programs in health education, physical education

• and recreational therapy for students and professionals in Alabama and the nation;

• promote a quality of life that is characterized by optimal fitness and wellness.
