Greetings and Welcome to the Alabama State University Department of Music!

“When We Teach Class The World Takes Note.” This is a motto used by our university to describe itself but we take it to heart and put it into action. When you enroll in our program you are coming to be taught music by some of the best and most dedicated instructors at any HBCU. When you graduate, you will be sought after by employers and graduate schools that recognize the quality and abilities of our graduates.

So, whether you are an interested student, a member of our extended musical community, or just a visitor, take a few moments and learn about whom we are, what we have to offer, and just what makes us special.
